Notting Hill Carnival.

The Carnival costumes and Hayley by Hayley :)

The Notting Hill Carnival is different to other Carnivals in that it's a celebration of the Caribbean way to party.  There's not just floats but something called sound systems which are BIG piles of speakers that s-h-a-k-e you down to your bones.  It was so much fun!

We went with our cousins on the first day.  We were representing our family Island - Grenada.  And they were representing Jamaica.  Troy wore his Grenada suit that his grannie Sam made.

There's LOADS of people

Dancing and laughing with each other even the police
Dancing in the street and on stage

Even the babies have headphones.

People really dressed up

And wore their costumes all day

Even the sailors were dancing

The floats were like you could not have imagined

Then there was us!  We went on a float.  It rained on the sunday for a short while so Troy went in the float while everyone danced in the rain behind.  Nothing stopped us!    Sunday was family day.  And this is some of our family that were there.

Summer camp ends

In London we went to Fit for Sport in Wilsden for August summer camp.  We did so many things and the coaches were really good fun.  We swam every day, played games and did sport.  Everything from running to trampolining. .. and at the end of each week we would do a show :)

August in London

It didn't rain all month.. but nearly!
We were lucky to get this sunny day to go Blackberry Picking with mum to the magic field - just near our house.
